The story, the projects

Updated: Sep 13, 2024

My name is Carolina Lineros, I am Colombian and this is my auto-portrait

A collage of design languages, cultural and aesthetic influences and races but with an enourmous indigenous influences that has driven my interests in the crafts that have accompanied Colombian people through the centuries, both in their earthly and spiritual activities.

I am an architect,

but mostly I do design, architecture, interiors,

furniture, objects, baskets in fique, carpets in

fique, also woodwork, stone, etc.

All my designs has the language of a female architect with some years of practice at Octubre Studio, who has developed a very personal interest in Interior Design; based on my relationship with my surroundings.

Some years ago (2004) I began to work in Octubre

Aquitectura where I began my journey as an architect and designer...

Then I become a Senior Architect and began to participated more in the conceptualization, design, detailing and so on.

And began to have some commissions as Independent architect and designer...

And continue my projects with Octubre Arquitectura at the same time...

ABASTO Restaurant. Bogotá, CO. 2017 (Interior Design with arch Guillermo Arias -Octubre arquitectura)

Lawyer Offices. Bogotá, CO. 2017 (Interior Design with Octubre arquitectura)

In 2018, We (Octubre arquitectura) received a commission, the Interior Design of a Eco-Lodge in La Serranía de La Macarena. Based on the architectural concept developed by the firm AgenDA arquitectura of the city of Medellín, which conceived this project as a volume inspired by coffee beneficiaries, the pillars of this concept were taken to make an interior design consistent with its architecture and its surroundings.

Wayabero Lodge. La Macarena, CO. 2018 (Interior Design with Octubre arquitectura)

And suddenly, in between, I began to make true one of my dreams. Having my own brand with which I could explore, imagine and dream things made with natural materials; things that talk about me and my interests. In that way Casa Collage was born.

Inspired in the book of the same name "Casa Collage: an essay about the architecture of the home" is a design entrepreneurship that have helped me develop relevant skills in constructing a debate around inhabited spaces, providing to me with new concepts on the way to intern ene architectural structures and developing a critical design thinking based on my training , a personal research in the tropical environment and the framework built in a Latin American country.

Casa Collage was created with the purpose on mind to go beyond what is a traditionally defined as an architectural and interior project (plans, drawings, models), at casa Collage we believe that our work could help to shape new ways of thinking around space and how inhabit our planet. We are focused on the furniture and objects that we share the spaces with, and that we imprint personality and character to what was built. In that sense, I agree with whatXavier Monteys and Pere Fuertes wrote in their Casa Collage book:

"Houses vary between one country and another as the objects of the house do. Some furniture, objects and appliances are repeated in many of them. others however, are unique to a place, a culture or a lifestyle."

Casa Collage is fresh, dreamer, timeless, Latin American. Is a brand really detailed, proudly Colombian with objects & furniture for lifetime
